Answering who, what, where, when, which, and why questions can be one of the most difficult yet most important skills to teach. This essential skill builds conversation skills, comprehension abilities, vocabulary, and academic knowledge. Answering “wh” questions also allow a student to demonstrate their knowledge, engage in meaningful social interactions and advocate for themselves. A deficit in question answering can have implications across academic, social, and functional skill areas.
This unit targets who, what, where, when, which, and why questions using adapted books and a sorting activity and uses a mixture of clip art and real photos! The wide range of examples and variety will allow your students to practice this skill and expand vocabulary in a fun and easy way! This resource is perfect for independent work, guided practice, stations, partner work, and speech-language therapy.
This resource includes:
- 4 “wh” question adapted books (real-photo)
- 1 “wh” question sorting activity (sort answers by question type)
- 1 anchor chart
